Forum: feature_films Subject: Subcatagories for Feature Films

I was pleased to see that feature films had started sub-collections, but it doesn't seem like anything has changed with then since they started. This is true at least for the Sci Fi/ horror collection which is small compared to the number of films from these genres in the Archive. Also, the sub-collection has not grown as new movies have come in.
It seems that the subject/keyword references are better organized than they used to be. Even though there are five variations on "sci fi" in the list, they all link to a list of 97 title. This was not the case a few years back if I remember right.
I ain't complaining as much as suggesting and asking. I'm curious as to how the sub-collections work. I would imagine that they're more like sub-directories of what's in the entire collection rather than actual separate collections. That would be wasteful in terms of server space.

Thanks for the movies,
Todd

I been wondering who's manning the sub-categories. Noir has been at 39 for a year.

Noir films have been added to the Feature Films list in that time. For instance, "The Chase" isn't listed in the Noir category, though it certainly belongs there.

While I'm at it, the description of the Noir category states, "Expressionistic crime dramas of the 40s and 50s: tough cops and private eyes...". That should be private I's.

It's like G-man. The "I" stands for Investigator. You hire a private "I", not a private eye... though you could hire private "I's".

There are 43 films with the "War" tag listed in the Subject/Keyword index and I'd suggest war movies as a new sub-collection here.
